The set up:
Nick, the cop has invaded Kris, the dominatrix's personal space. She can't hold him at arm's length forever.

The excerpt:
He stood, his closeness making her feel claustrophobic. She stepped back, colliding with the wall as he placed his hands on either side of her, effectively fencing her in.

He stared at her hungrily, telegraphing his need, then lowered his mouth to hers but stopped, his breath falling soft against her cheek. “C’mon, Baby, you can do this. It’s just a kiss.”

Her tongue darted out to moisten her lips and he grinned. “You’re killing me here.”

SET UP:
Bad Girl! is a mystery/suspense. When her clients start dying a beautiful dominatrix is forced to rely on a controlling cop. In this excerpt, Nick, the hero, is visited by the dominatrix. She has no idea he is a cop.

EXCERPT:
He’d never been hit by a woman before. He wasn't the kind of man to allow himself to be hit. He wasn’t the kind of man not to rise up and hit another man back. He wasn’t the kind of man not to keep hitting until he was the last man left standing upright...and yet, he allowed this sexy little tease to hit him, not once but five times.

“Now, what do you say?” She leaned close again, her expression betraying no hint of emotion.

He swallowed hard and said, “Thank you, Mistress.”

Set up~After being shot at in Central Park, Micki goes back to Oz, her former lover and a cop.
Excerpt~
Oz was leaning up against the building as she pulled into the parking space. A familiar ache spread through her when she saw him.    She could almost feel his arms holding her, his tall, lean body the perfect haven. Resting her head against his chest would make her feel safe and secure, but she’d given up the right to experience those things with him.

When he saw her, he ducked his head and raked his fingers through his thick, dark hair before pushing away from the wall. He stepped into the street and surveyed her through the shattered window.

Things change. People change. Maybe the break up had been a good thing for Oz. His new girlfriend looked like a teenage boy’s wet dream in Jimmy Choos.

Micki crawled into his car and opened the driver’s side for Oz because the electric lock was still broken. An old habit. She exhaled, willing herself not to revert to any other old habits.
